I finally found another CRX chassis to receive the good stuff from the Si. It's a '91 Dx version which unfortunatly weighs a LOT more than a '88 HF so it looks like I won't be as competitive as I had hoped, but the body is straight and there is no rust at all on this car. The engine was blown so the price was right. I don't have any pictures of it before I started tearing it down so if you want to see it check out the Progress So Far section of the site. The goal for this car is to be a dual purpose car, fun to drive daily commuter car and fun semi-competitive weekend autocrosser. I should also mention the 5th Honda I've come to own over the course of these past few years. My brother-in-law bought a brand new base model Civic in '89 for college. After he finished Grad school and drove the car for a few years, he handed it down to a sibling who was starting college and needed a basic car. The car made it's way through the family this way until it became so worn out that no one was really willing to take it again. So I claimed it and now it's my beater. Since it's thie lightest version of the 4th Gen Civics I'm holding onto it for a while in case I get a chance to build that SM car I've always wanted to do. The End. < Previous |
