The Cable Bridge At our local autocross site, we typically need to run the start or finish timing cable over the course. The timing cable is rather delicate and it would be ruined if it got ran over. Our solution in the past has been to lift the cable up over the course with a "cable bridge" that allows the cars to drive underneath it. My first design was inexpensive and worked for two years, but ultimatly failed. I decided to design a better cable bridge, similar to the type used at Nationals. The new design is made of steel and has a folding tripod base. The complete plans are listed below.
